Growth Tip #3: The VIP Beta Launch

By Pete Rakozy

Growth Tips

People love to feel important, to feel they’re first, or to feel like an insider.

VIP launches create exclusivity which is a status change – the number one reason people buy. When you’re part of a special group that not everyone has access to, you feel great!

Ironically, almost everyone is part of a VIP group. Check your phone or wallet and you’ll find VIP passes or memberships to gyms, stores, shops, and more.

If you’re just getting started with you business, one great way to hype your brand and get fast customers is by offering exclusive discounts, early access, or VIP-only bonuses to a small group of early adopters. This is called the VIP Beta launch, and not only will it get you fast customers, but many of these first customers will be instrumental in shaping your business, improving your product, and spreading the word!

How to execute this growth tip

Sketch out how you want your beta launch to run, step by step. What are you offering for those who sign up? How many signups do you want? How will you make them feel special, in addition to being first? How will you make it easy for them to get others to sign up (friends want friends to join them)?

Build your landing page to allow people to opt-in early. Be sure to explain your new opportunity with details on the product or service, the beta program (the who, what, why of the program), and a way to capture their info (form, chat bot, text opt-in, etc.).

Promote Promote Promote! Contact everyone - literally everyone you know - and ask them, "Who do you know that would be interested in this?" And please share it!

HACK: by not asking them directly to join they don't feel awkward or obligated but will join anyway if it's a good fit. Jump on social, publish a press release, hand out flyers, hustle, and get the word out.
