Value first is the name of the game. People don’t want to feel sold to, so the best way to sell to them without selling is to teach them.

Teaching someone how to solve a problems is often viewed by narrow-minded marketers as giving away the super secret sauce. This is not the case.

The more you help someone solve their problem, even by giving step-by-step instructions, the more they will like and trust you, which are two things needed for people to feel comfortable buying.

So how can you help solve people’s problems? One way is through an email education series. This day-by-day drip, when done right, will keep you top of mind of your customer, provide them actionable tactics to help them with their problem, and position you as someone who is genuinely interested in helping them.

How to execute this growth tip


Choose your topic. The best way to do this is to just ask your target market what they are struggling with. Creating an ASK Survey is a great way to do that. Short of having an audience, you can do some keyword research or check out Buzzsumo.com for what's trending around that problem.


Decide on the length and write out your email course. Start small, between five and seven emails to start, then test longer campaigns and gauge their results. Start with an informative course overview, then cover one sub topic for each email.

Pro Tip: Always end each email with "Look out for tomorrow when we [intriguing hint at topic]" to ensure they keep opening your email each day.


Load up your emails into an email marketing platform and automate it to send one per day. Then promote, promote, promote! Create a landing page, blog post, social post, website pop-ups, etc to let visitors know it exists.
